Meditation / Relaxation
The meditation and relaxation techniques Nancy uses with her clients and students are all designed to enhance the body-mind connection. The body and the mind are constantly communicating through an intricate two-way communication system, and cannot be separated. The body expresses to the mind and the mind expresses to the body. A change in either the mind or the body causes a direct and immediate change in the other. The body-mind connection allows you to actively participate in the process of discovery, recovery, and personal transformation, as well as become more self-expressive, calm, and grounded.
Mindfulness Meditation
These are skill-building classes where you will learn core practices of mindfulness meditation. You will gain an understanding of the foundations of mindfulness meditation, and learn how to integrate them into your daily life. Together we'll cultivate the skills needed to become more present and to move with what arises internally and externally, rather than against it. This series places a strong emphasis on the importance of self-compassion.
